Qatlh and Qoj class redesigns
Much like my previous project, this is my quick redesign of Star Trek Discovery's Qatlh and Qoj class Klingon ships. Originally 2 separate but very similar designs, I decided it would be interesting to have the more skeletal looking Qatlh be a battlecruiser derived from the Qoj battleship.

One of the first thing I knew I had to do was add some verticality to totally flat original designs
This design keeps much of the organic queues from Discovery's Klingon ships but through a more industrial lens
As a battleship, the Qoj had both an external armored hull and an internal citadel for its critical components. As a battlecruiser, the Qalth's warpcore citadel is clearly exposed.
Bulking out the Qoj let me add the red grill seen on early Klingon ships, something that was entirely missing from the original designs. I also added some hangars to give the ship some identifiable features.
From this angle, we can see that the profile was more refined then redefined. The warp engines and the neck were bulked up and the engines made shorter to give the more typical Klingon proportions.
