Eagle Class - BSG

based on "Colonial Ship(unnamed)" number 3 in the following image (https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/w/images/f/fb/The_Fleet%28TOS%29-PortsideView.jpg), the Eagle class is my interpretation of this background ship from the original run of BattleStar: Galactica. Seen here providing cover for a merchant convoy. The original miniature was a kit-bash of an Eagle shuttle from Space1999 and a number of miscellaneous model kits (such as track links from British Centurion tanks). I used parts from the space1999 kit left unused in the original model to fill out the underside of the ship which I wasn't able to find any reference of. Some liberty was taken to give the ship an aesthetic in line with the 2003 reboot. Namely reverse thrusters and visible weapon turrets. In addition, I felt the ship's asthetics lent it more towards an auxiliary warship then a task-less civilian ship. As such there was a slight modification of the large flat "wings" into a flight deck with associated facilities.
In theme with the main ship, the background ships are digital Kit-bashes of odds and ends i had lying around

This is my second attempt to bring this background ship to life, the first was 3 years ago and I included renders of it here for comparison. All assets by yours truly.
